Cass County: Well-connected and powered by healthy businesses

It’s easy to get to and from Cass County, thanks to Indiana’s new Hoosier Heartland Highway, an Interstate-quality divided highway that runs right through the area, providing fast connections to Interstates 65 and 69, as well as to Interstate-quality U.S. 31. We’re also on a Norfolk Southern railroad mainline, and served by the Toledo, Peoria & Western and Winamac Southern rail lines. If you want even faster travel, there’s Logansport Cass County Airport (KGGP), with a 5,500-foot runway that accommodates jet aircraft. We’re developing the Hoosier Heartland Business Park, which has immediate access to the Hoosier Heartland Highway and rail service (we’ll be happy to add a spur). Logansport also has available lots in an industrial park that’s Shovel-Ready certified and has utilities in place.

Our communities have a rich agricultural heritage, and we continue to play key roles in today’s agribusiness industry. We’re surrounded by an abundance of corn, soybeans, dairy cows, and hogs, and area workers understand the special needs of agriculture and food production. Today, we’re serving companies that sell fertilizer, feeds, agricultural components, and more. Plus, with two large rivers, we can provide plenty of fresh water to production operations.

Companies have been making things here since Cass County began, and our workers have kept up with industry’s changing needs. Today, our residents’ expertise with metalworking technologies makes us a prime site for companies producing automotive components, medical components, plastics, and metal products. With our location and broad industry base, we’re also idea for today’s innovative logistics providers, who enjoy quick access to markets in all directions.

Education is a priority in Cass County. We’re home to campuses of Trine University and Ivy Tech Community College, with workforce-focused education and customized training in today’s in-demand skills, such as welding and HVAC. Area high schools are enthusiastic about Project Lead the Way’s programs, and also offer adult education programs and certifications in Advanced Manufacturing and Production Technology.
